How Does Text Connect You With The world? To Relationships?

To me, text connects person to person and can help all kinds of relationships flourish. Whether text is described as a dialect or messaging, via social media, it brings people together. Text allows communication amongst the world's population. When I think of text, I associate it with English. English, along with other languages have given me the option to connect with people around me and has given me the opportunity to use my skills to reach my goals. I connect myself to the world by associating myself with those I have a lot in common with or with things that make up who I am. To me, gymnastics and firefighting make up who I am as a person and connect me to the world and the people around me. The sports I play and the peers I surround myself with ground me and create the person I grow to be. I feel grounded and linked to the world by being able to do what I love; gymnastics. Surrounding myself with family reminds me of how powerful love is. Emotions keep us connected to the ...

How Do The People In Our Lives Encourage Learning?

Although everyone we meet has an impact in our lives, it’s those whom we keep close to us that have a valuable impression on us and our learning. We would not be the people we are today without the influence of our closest peers such as parents, teammates, family friends, and close friends. Surrounding ourselves with people we look up to and admire is very important for our personal growth and learning. Being comfortable enough to voice your opinions is a big asset to extending your knowledge and views on things and having peers you can elaborate thoughts with supports that mindset growth. Learning is something that we have been doing since we were born and will continue to do until we die. Our whole lives, we have been learning mentally, physically, and even spiritually. It’s these aspects that we are taught under the main influence of our close ones, most often parents, siblings, and friends. Another main area in life that we gain knowledge from is school. While school is viewe...

Grievance

Grievance is not something that can be fixed or cured. It is a lifelong battle to endure. Grieving the loss of anything is tough and aching, and losing a loved one is beyond description. I, like many, have lost multiple people in my life. When grieving, I do not seek sympathy or remorse, I seek love and endearment. In the end, people going through loss and grievance remember those who were there with words of encouragement over the heaps of dead flowers. Although flowers are thoughtful and meaningful, and bring light and colour into their lives through this unbearable darkness, what people truly need during this time is presence. After losing someone, your world is flipped upside down and you no longer see the happiness in things you once did. This stage of loss is normal and will pass with time. Although your life won’t return to how it was before the loss of your loved one, you will indefinitely gain back your happiness. You may not find happiness in all the things you previous...

Dating While You're Young

Many teenagers and young adults view dating in highschool as meaningless since you’re most likely not going to find your wife or husband when you’re 16 and will end up broken-hearted. I view highschool relationships as a learning point in your life; where you gain experience that will help you in future relationships. Dating while you’re young will help you realize what you want and don’t want in relationships, will show you boundaries and respect, and how to join your personal lives in with your romantic life. Although I believe teen relationships can potentially structure your future based on what you learn from it, it can also lead to heartbreak and despair but, with every heartbreak, comes knowledge. Once you have your first heartbreak you may think there is no point in continuing with relationships however, you gain so many mental and physical benefits such as higher oxytocin levels, less stress, and overall a happier life. I am so grateful for my past re...

Why Do Siblings Fight?

My older sister and I have a 5 year age gap. We fought a lot growing up and still have our regular disputes however, the love we have for each other is unconditional.  Although she lives 6 hours away and we are not always in constant communication, the love and connection we have keeps us close in heart. Siblings tend to fight more often than not and this stems purely out of love. My sister is confident in saying, like most older siblings preach, that she raised me. I think that it is this mindset that starts our arguments. Older siblings feel as if they have an authority over us, which in a way they do however, this authority shouldn't be a parental authority. Along with that, younger siblings aren't as mature as their older siblings which leads to annoying them with questions, noises, and situations. Another concept that could be linked to siblings fighting is being too similar. You know how when two people are so similar that they are constantly clashing wit...
