Why Do Siblings Fight?

     My older sister and I have a 5 year age gap. We fought a lot growing up and still have our regular disputes however, the love we have for each other is unconditional. Although she lives 6 hours away and we are not always in constant communication, the love and connection we have keeps us close in heart. Siblings tend to fight more often than not and this stems purely out of love. My sister is confident in saying, like most older siblings preach, that she raised me. I think that it is this mindset that starts our arguments. Older siblings feel as if they have an authority over us, which in a way they do however, this authority shouldn't be a parental authority. Along with that, younger siblings aren't as mature as their older siblings which leads to annoying them with questions, noises, and situations. Another concept that could be linked to siblings fighting is being too similar. You know how when two people are so similar that they are constantly clashing with each other? Same idea with siblings. You were raised by the same people, same environment, and in the same situations. This can lead to having similar outcomes as your siblings. With that being said, sometimes you can be the total opposite as your sibling which can be just as valid of a reason for arguments. Being too similar, or too unalike can both lead to constant arguments.
